Vision Drive Pack |
Reference: PVM-VDP |
The Vision Drive Pack includes tests for visual acuity, visual field, contrast sensitivity, night vision and glare as stipulated by the new EU directive on vision and driving (2009/113/EC). Two additional options are available for advanced expertise: the visual attention test and the scan path analysis test.
The visual acuity test is based on the ETDRS standard or, alternatively, on the Landolt ring standard. It is performed at a distance of 2.5 meters, with controlled luminance and contrast. The result can be scored automatically, recorded and printed. |
The visual field test performs an evaluation of the central visual field up to 30 degrees of eccentricity and an evaluation of horizontal limits up to 80 degrees of eccentricity. Note that this test is in agreement with the recommendations of the Eye Sight Working Group, that stipulates a minimum of 25 test points within 20 degrees of eccentricity. |
The evaluation of contrast sensitivity is performed with sinusoidal gratings whose parameters (luminance, contrast, spatial frequency) are controlled by the computer. The results are represented as a curve (here in red) giving the contrast sensitivity versus spatial frequency. The curve can be compared to inferior and superior normal limits (here in light grey). |
For the realization of the glare test, the stimulator is
equipped with a lateral high luminance light source. |
The attention visual field test is designed for screening patients for visual cognitive disabilities. It includes 3 levels of difficulty with simple attention, divides attention (combination of a central and a peripheral task) and divided attention (with distractors). |
